How to Use DEX - FactCheck AI Agent

  1. Install the Extension: Add DEX - FactCheck AI Agent from the Chrome Web Store
  2. Navigate to Facebook: Open Facebook and browse your feed
  3. Select a Post: Find a post you want to fact-check
  4. Click "🔍 Investigate": Click the investigation button on any post
  5. Wait for Analysis: DEX (our AI detective) will analyze the post
  6. Review Results: Read the fact-check report and use the action buttons

DEX - FactCheck AI Agent uses advanced artificial intelligence to analyze posts. However, it's important to remember that AI analysis is not infallible. Always use the results as a starting point for your own research and critical thinking.

The Extension can analyze any post that you can see on Facebook. However, it only processes content that you explicitly select by clicking the "Investigate" button.

DEX - FactCheck AI Agent supports multiple languages. The AI will detect the language of the post and respond in the same language. Currently supported languages include English, Arabic, French, Spanish, German, and many others.

Yes! We don't store your post content. Posts are processed in real-time and immediately discarded. Only anonymous usage statistics are collected. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Privacy-First Mode is an optional feature that redacts personally identifiable information from posts before sending them for analysis. Enable it in the Extension popup settings.

  1. Reload the Extension: Go to chrome://extensions/ and click reload
  2. Refresh Facebook: Refresh the Facebook page you're on
  3. Check your internet connection: The Extension requires an active connection
  4. Try a different post: Some posts may not be compatible

🔧 Troubleshooting

Button Not Appearing

If the "🔍 Investigate" button doesn't appear on posts:

  • Ensure you're on a Facebook feed page (not a profile or group)
  • Refresh the page
  • Check that the Extension is enabled in Chrome settings
  • Try scrolling to load more posts

Analysis Not Loading

If the analysis doesn't appear:

  • Check your internet connection
  • Wait a few seconds—analysis can take 5-10 seconds
  • Try clicking "Investigate" again
  • Make sure the Extension is up to date

Statistics Not Updating

If your statistics aren't updating:

  • Reload the Extension
  • Perform a new fact-check—statistics only track new checks
  • Click "Refresh Log" in the popup

💡 Tips for Best Results

  • Select Complete Posts: Make sure the post text is fully visible. Click "See more" if needed.
  • Include Images: The Extension can extract text from images for better analysis
  • Use Clear Language: Posts in clear, well-written language produce better results
  • Be Patient: Complex posts may take longer to analyze
  • Verify Results: Use the analysis as a starting point, not the final word
